You will run out of superlatives if you attempt to fully describe all this coastal resort community has to offer. From modest townhomes to fabulous mansions, St. James Plantation offers a variety of upscale living options. Or you may purchase a homesite and choose to custom build your own dream home.
If you are the active type, you should know that St James boasts more than $100,000,000 in existing amenities, with more on the way! If your personal style is to just relax in the tranquil privacy and security of a gated community, this is also your kind of place. And "community" really does have a special meaning here.
Get as involved -- or not -- as suits you. A sizeable portion of the more than 6,000 acres were set aside as natural areas by the original developer (and now, legend), Homer Wright, so it never feels crowded. St. James has been the number one selling coastal resort community in the beautiful Carolinas since 1995. And, it has mild, pleasant weather, suitable for an active lifestyle in each of the four distinct seasons.
Is Golf your passion? How about four courses: The Reserve-Nicklaus; Members-Hale Irwin; Founders-P B Dye; Players-Tim Cate; a total of 81 holes! Just in case you love nature, (and who doesn't) all are Audubon Certified Cooperative Sanctuaries.
Tennis anyone? Courts are found in several areas of St. James. Over 250 residents are members of the Tennis Association, which is a member of the USTA. You'll always be able to find a partner, and lots of events, leagues, etc.
Fitness -- Sports and Fitness Clubs; more than 15 miles of walking and biking trails; fitness classes; sauna; steam room; yoga; Tai Chi; and much more.
Full Service Marina on the Intracoastal Waterway with great food at Tommy Thompson's Grille, and shopping in Robert's Market and Waterman's provisions store. You'll find great fun, fellowship, and libations waterside at The Tiki Bar. If you are into boating, there are 155 wet slips and room for 320 boats in dry storage.
Waterway Park, with the waterway pier, is famous and fabulous for getting together with a few friends, or reserve the spacious shelter for a family wedding or reunion of 100 or so of your closest friends!
Private Beach Club called 'St. James by the Sea' is a great place to take a picnic, lounge on the beach or just enjoy the sea breezes, then shower away the sand before making the 10-minute drive back home to St James.
That "special meaning" of community we referred to? You will find a lot of very special people, who are involved in almost any activity you can imagine, from fishing to Ma Jong. If you are interested in an activity and DON'T find it here, start it! You'll find plenty of new friends to enthusiastically share it!
