Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

  • Grew up in a rural Southern Town where the highlight of the activity was driving around and blowing up dynamite.
  • Has two children – both in college.
  • Actually met spouse in an elevator.
  • Handle on radio used to be “the swamp boss.”
  • Almost drowned in the Great PeeDee River during a flood when the boat capsized – never found the boat.
  • Avid fisherman and hunter.
  • Along with brother, started a Charter Boat business at the age of 18.
  • Daughter rides on the ECU Equestrian Team.
  • First person that comprehensively mapped the Continental Shelf off of the Carolinas.
  • A die hard SC Gamecock fan.

Intracoastal Realty Mystery Agent

Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

    • Oldest of three girls.
    • Worked in Murphy’s 5 & 10 cent store in high school.
    • Left mom’s car parked on a hill only to find later that it rolled down onto the trolley tracks.
    • Summered on the Jersey shore but never met Snooki or the Situation.
    • Worked in the Admissions Office of Temple University after high school.
    • Taught elementary school in Connecticut and Pennsylvania while in graduate school.
    • Received a Masters degree in counseling from Villanova.
    • Got married in Villanova Chapel then had three children in 3 ½ years.
    • Started in real estate in 1984.
    • First million-plus listing was bought by Charles Grodin.
    • Lived in Wilmington, DE, Virginia Beach, Pittsburg, and Connecticut, before moving to Wilmington.

Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

  • Grew up on a small farm and had to milk the cow before school.
  • Was a pretty good high school basketball player.
  • First job was packaging chickens at Holly Farms.
  • Owned and rode a motorcycle for years.
  • Raced 4-wheel drive vehicles both Drag racing and motor cross.  Won several trophies.
  • Been in real estate longer than most people have been around.  (35 years)
  • Been married 3 times.  (It took a couple of times before I got it right.)
  • Owned my own real estate company for 20 years.
  • Favorite vacation spot is LAS VEGAS BABY!!!
  • Just got my first hole-in-one

Mystery Agent January 17

Intracoastal Realty Mystery Agent

Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

  • Born in Hanover, New Hampshire.
  • Has an identical “mirror” twin.
  • Grew up going deep-sea fishing with my father off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland and caught my first white marlin at the age of 12.
  • Played rugby football in college and beyond, then went on to referee in that sport. I have since hung up my cleats and replaced them with a tennis racket.
  • Sailed across the Atlantic aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2 and studied at the University of London and Richmond College.
  • Once worked for Bob Zappa, Frank’s Zappa’s brother, in New York City in the publishing industry where I wrote marketing material for engineering textbooks.
  • Lived in the west and have traveled through most of the United States except for 12.
  • Attended graduate school at NC State University where I taught all about land grading and drainage.
  • Has a background in college publishing sales, but gave it all up to become a landscape architect who did the original landscape design for the first phase of Lumina Station.
  • Married to a local architect who specializes in high end residential.
  • Jim Wallace once interviewed me for a job and didn’t hire me! He hired another landscape architect instead. But, I’m working for him now.

  • Has been in the Real Estate business for 26 years.
  • Before becoming an Agent, sold Foster Grant sunglasses, Nestles chocolates, and owned a catering business.
  • Lives in a house in Wrightsville Beach that has been in the family for over 50 years.
  • Is a member of the Wrightsville Beach Methodist Church.
  • Was “Little Miss 4th of July” at age 5.
  • Was a majorette who twirled a baton of fire in high school.
  • Proud Mother of 2 and Grandmother of 2.
  • Received a successful kidney transplant from her sister in 2004

Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

  • Born in Raleigh and grew up in Nash County.
  • Father was a cotton ginner.
  • Took swimming lessons in the lagoon at Wrightsville Beach.
  • First job was “handing” tobacco at age 15 for 15 cents an hour.
  • Graduated from two ACC schools, UNC Chapel Hill and Wake Law.
  • Waited tables and tended bar through law school.
  • On staff of Governor’s Committee on Law and Order.
  • Helped owner start A Southern Season in Chapel Hill and was first employee.
  • Deputy Legal Counsel to Gov. Jim Hunt (handled matters of executive clemency which involved staffing the Governor’s Mansion with inmates).
  • Was on the legal staff of NC Department of Insurrance.
  • Started real estate at the peak of the market (looks forward to the next peak).
  • Was Raleigh’s Community Ambassador to Finland and Russia.
  • Lived in Switzerland for 4 years, while there, visited 14 countries on 5 continents each year.
  • Had the lead role in Raleigh Dinner Theater’s “Barefoot in the Park.”
  • Wants next role to be “Aunt Mame” to her grand children.

Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

  •  This mystery agent’s dad was on the marketing “think tank” that designed the “Energizer Bunny” for Eveready Batteries.
  • At 14, this agent’s family moved to a farm and raised 40 black angus cows, 15 chickens, 3 horses and 2 pigs named “Oscar and Mayer”.
  • In high school, this agent practiced piano 2 hours a day (to get out of farm work) and directed a 90 member high school choir
  • Was 4H county president and was chosen as “Future Farmers of America’s Sweetheart” and had to drive a tractor in a parade.
  • This agent started in Real estate in Charlotte in 1989 after 7 years of being a stay at home mom with 2 kids, 15 months apart.
  • She spent the next 15 years in property management; starting as a leasing agent and working her way up to Regional Property Manager with 50 apartment communities in North and South Carolina.
  • Started her own property management company in 2004.
  • Hiked the Incan Trail in Peru to Machu Piccu.
  • Her daughter, Brynn, works for a Federal Judge in the southern district of New York and lives in Brooklyn.  Her son, Chris, fell in love with the restaurant business and the beach life.  He’s a manager at PTs and has been there over 6 years.
  • She resides at Lake Waccamaw and lives next door to her 82 year old mother.  She still loves to play piano and sing.  She leads 2 choral groups and a handbell choir at her church. She also enjoys walking by the lake, baking, reading and watching movies.

Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

  • Born in Wilmington.
  • Skipped the first grade.
  • Senior Class Secretary at New Hanover High School.
  • Rode on a float in the Azalea Festival parade.
  • Studied piano for 11 years and into college.
  • Earned a private pilot’s license for single engine planes and has piloted or co-piloted between Maine and Grenada.  Landed shortly after the communist invasion.
  • Has flown in small planes, float planes, helicopters, small jets and jumbos.
  • Has enjoyed sailing, windsurfing, trick waterskiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and flying.
  • Caught a white marlin in Bermuda and drove a dog sled in Alaska.
  • Snow skied the mountains of NC, Vermont, Colorado, and Canada.
  • Lived across the street from George C. Scott who was filming in the area and received a personal note of thanks for a favor.
  • Has shown property to Erskine Bowles and the father of Michelle “Marilyn Monroe” Williams (separately).
  • Tent camped with family in the NC mountains.
  • Bareboat sailed a Gulf Star 50 in the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, and Grenadines.
  • Crewed on a sailboat delivery to the Abacos and encountered 40 foot waves in a winter hurricane that raged for 2 ½ days.  Lost the dinghy and a jib, but arrived in Marsh Harbor with all hands safe and kneeled down and kissed the dock.

Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.

  • Grew up in a military family, living in Utah, California, Montana, South Carolina, Kentucky and Turkey (the country) – living on 4 different Air Force Base.
  • Attended a different school every year from grade 6 to grade 12.
  • Dad held the position of Officer of Special Investigations – the same job held by Oscar Goldman on the TV show “$6 Million Dollar Man”
  • Wanted to be a criminal defense attorney until Dad took this person to court to watch a trial in progress (at age 17)
  • Has an 18 year old child and an 18 year old step-grandchild!
  • Shares a huge passion for cars with their son, and would like to restore cars one day.
  • Worked at IBM in HR, specifically in recruiting, and some of those recruited employees became real estate clients!
  • As a youth, was a competitive swimmer and  3-time Bowling champion, with scores of 214!  (Pre-teen and Teenage Champion)
  • Was a Flight Attendant until 9/11 and then could not return to flying (and just took their first flight since 9/11!!)
  • Has a goal of winning the most Outgoing Referrals at IRC every year.

  • Started in real estate when youngest child went to middle school.
  • Worked for a prolific developer of local properties before coming to Intracoastal.
  • Has owned own real estate firm.
  • Has bought property just to make a deal work.
  • Has been Intracoastal Realty Agent of the Year.
  • Has been WRAR Agent of the Year.
  • Remembers when Gail Turner came to work for IRC and whipped is ALL into shape!
  • Plans to sell real estate until that final closing in the sky.
  • Has been a Wrightsville Beach resident for 50 years.
  • Remembers when the only places open in the winter where Robert’s, the post office, and most importantly, the liquor store.
