For the fall Stress Buster, Intracoastal Realty agents and corporate staff gathered together at 217 S. Lumina Avenue on Wrightsville Beach to unwind and enjoy some amazing BBQ prepared by our very own, Bobby Brandon for a fantatstic Pig Pickin Party!
Bobby began cooking the pig at 3 am for the fall feast and kept us updated and entertained along the way with humorous photos and updates.
We had a great turn out with many agents and staff in attendance, and were joined by some of our friends at TowneBank.

The Intracoastal Realty office in Carolina Beach celebrated the end of summer recently. To reconnect with agents and celebrate the end of summer, the agents from the Carolina Beach office visited The Lazy Pirate, a Carolina Beach favorite, and winner of Wilmington’s Best Wings from the 2014 Access Wilmington and 98.3 The Penguin’s Wilmington’s Best Wings Contest.
The Lazy Pirate is a great place to have fun while living at Carolina Beach or even if you are just visiting. The Intracoastal Realty agents from Carolina Beach greatly enjoyed themselves with the evening festivities and the camaraderie of the Intracoastal Realty team. The many agents who attended played corn hole, spent some time relaxing, and enjoyed a fun game of volleyball. At the end of the evening, our Carolina Beach agents felt relaxed and ready to kick off the fall season in the Carolina Beach market.
Mark Harrison, a new addition to the Carolina Beach office, said, “Thank you for a great time!! We have a great office.” Those sentiments were echoed across many of the agents who attended the gathering, including Alicia Devereaux, who commented, “I second that! Such a great group. We are very lucky.”
Toni Mims-Bowman, a new agent at Intracoastal Realty, agreed with Mark’s I was telling Brigitte Simone just how lucky we are to work with such a wonderful, and fun group of people. I had an absolute blast last night with all of you, especially sucking at corn hole with Original Toni, and enjoying the view with Mary 😉. A huge thank you to Cynthia Remahl for putting it together! The Latimer House, built in 1852 by Zebulon Latimer, has housed the Historical Society since 1963 and is open to the public as an historic house exemplary of upper-class life in Wilmington during the Victorian period. With 14 rooms containing over 600 historic objects (including furniture, jewelry, ephemera, tableware, tools, and more,) the Latimer House evokes memories of a highly elegant era.
The house, built in the popular Italianate style, was designed to be symmetrical with a central hallway on each floor opening onto identical layouts to either side. On the first floor, the hallway divides the formal sitting and dining areas on the north side — used for entertaining and special occasions — from the less formal sitting rooms to the south.
Shown here is the south front sitting room overlooking Third Street. The coal-burning fireplace, like all the fireplaces on the first floor, is solid marble. The chandelier, original to the house, initially was a gasolier operated by coal gas. The house was later converted to electricity by William Latimer, Zebulon’s son. The window, which reaches all the way to the floor, can double as a doorway out onto the side porch.

The Latimer House gardens, enclosed in original stucco and lace-brick walls, overlook historic downtown Wilmington, and have been planted largely with flora authentic to the period.

Mark your calendars for the annual Carolina Beach Fire Department BBQ Fundraiser! Many of you have attended in the past and know the firemen make some great BBQ.
The BBQ will be held at the station on Saturday, October 24, 2015. They are serving plates from 11:00a-7pm (unless they run out earlier). Come tour the Fire Department and enjoy some delicious BBQ! Desserts will be available for sale, including our very own Cynthia Remahl’s famed banana pudding!

Last weekend, Ocean Isle Beach welcomed many to the 35th Annual NC Oyster Festival. The annual event is held in front of the Museum of Coastal Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach and is a two day event offering ample opportunities to eat your fill of North Carolina’s best oysters and seafood.
The event is full of activities for all ages including arts and crafts, children’s activities, live music, an oyster shucking contest, a shag competition, an oyster eating contest, and the Oyster Stew Cook-off. The 2015 North Carolina Oyster Shucking Champion is a sought after title alongside the Shaggin’ Oyster, awarded to dancers competing in the shag competition. Live musical talent was available from Whitney Layne, who released her music video shot on Ocean Isle Beach earlier this year, as well as Craig Woolard and The Embers, Jim Quick and The Coastline Band, Darrell Harwood, Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot, CC Martin, and Fat Jack Band.
