Welcome to Shallotte, NC

Shallotte, North Carolina was incorporated on March 6, 1899 and gets its name from the former “Charlotte” river. The town is commonly referred to as the “commercial hub” of Brunswick County. Golf and tennis are just a few of the popular recreational activities the area has to offer. The mild, subtropical climate makes for a wonderful place to live or just visit.

Wilmington is about 45 minutes away and Southport is only 30 minutes away from Shallotte. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and all it’s major venues and tourist destinations are just under an hours drive south down Highway 17. Shallotte can experience traffic in its commute because it links the big cities of Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. There is a bypass so much traffic is diverted.

River’s Edge and Brierwoood Estates are golf course communities in Shallotte. Other communities are Copas Shores, Mulberry Creek, River Bend, River Heights, Marsh Cove, Old Shallotte, The Highlands, Wildwood Village and Woodside Farms.
