The Summer Season officially kicks off next week with the start of the Boardwalk Blast, Fireworks by the Sea and the Free Movies at the Lake Series.  Tuesday night at the Boardwalk enjoy "Family Night" with bouncy houses, Karaoke and much more.  Wednesday night is Bingo on the Boardwalk and Jazz at the Lake.  Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., is the free concert at the Gazebo featuring Mojo Collins belting out the best in blues followed by the Chamber's Fireworks by the Sea at 9:00 p.m.  Friday night, the fun continues with another concert at the Gazebo, starting at 6:30 p.m., featuring Machine Gun playing the best in classic rock.  Stick around because there will be another fireworks show at 9:00p.m. for those just getting into town for the weekend.

Saturday, don't forget to swing by the Lake in Carolina Beach to pick up the freshest fruits and veggies at the Carolina Beach Farmers Market.  The market runs each Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Lastly, you certainly won't want to miss the start of the Free Movies at the Lake.  We are kicking off the season with the wildly popular Avatar.  The movies start at dusk (around 8:45 p.m.)  There will be concessions available, offering popcorn, candy, soft drinks and more at affordable prices. Also, each week the Chamber will be holding a food drive benefiting a local charity so be sure to bring a non-perishable food item.

Real Estate and Weather - Last week Pleasure Island had 28 new listings, 10 under contract, and 7 closed sales.  The weather has been beautiful the past few days.  The weekend and next week will be high 70's and low 80's with a possibility of rain.  Come and join us at the beach.

This summer has so much to offer so be sure to check the calendar of events on the Chamber's website @ www.pleasureislandnc.org
