Second Annual Step Up For Soldiers Fundraising Event at The Last Resort - On Saturday, May 15th, the Last Resort will be holding their Second Annual "Step Up For Soldiers" Fundraiser Event. There will be an old fashioned Pig Pic N with all the Fixins. Musical entertainment will be provided by R&B band - Train Wreck. There will also be raffles and dancing. Step Up For Soldiers assists wounded soldiers by building ramps, steps. lifts and other things to make their homes handicapped accessible. Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project will be hosting their annual Wine Tasting Benefit and Sea Life Art Auction this Sunday, May 16th, from 2-5 p.m. Once again it will be held at the Ocean Grill, 1211 South Lake Park Boulevard. 6th Annual Battle for the North End Cup Volleyball Tournament - Come down to the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier on May 22nd and enjoy a day of fun in the sun and sand as our lifeguards compete for the Battle of the North End Cup. Lower Cape Fear River Historic Cruise - May 23, 2010 Hop aboard the Winner Cruise Queen for this wonderful tour. This guided tour will include over 55 known historic sites from Carolina Beach Marina, through snow's Cut and down the Cape Fear River southward to the Atlantic Ocean off Bald Head Island.
