On Saturday, April 17th at 11:30 a.m., head over to the Carolina Beach Lake Park for the 14th Annual Chowder Cook-Off. This year we have nine contestants competing for the best chowder. They include: Treehouse Bistro, Surf House, Tangerine Caribbean Grill, Fish Bites Restaurant, Lazy Pirate, Harbor Masters Restaurant, RuckerJohns, Beau Rivage Golf & Resort and Greek Boys Fun Festival Foods. Mark Roberts & Breeze will provide the musical entertainment for the day and, of course, we will have the fabulous Kidz Zone with plenty of entertainment for the little ones. Don’t forget that free parking is available at the Federal Point Shopping Center where Wilmington Trolley will be available to transport you to the Lake for Free. Cardinal Lanes to Offer Summertime Specials – This Summer, kids 18 and under are invited to participate in Kids Bowl Free at Cardinal Lanes. 12th Annual Shrimp Open Golf Tournament Seeks Sponsors – On Monday, April 26, 2010, Michael’s Seafood will be hosting their annual golf tournament benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis and Duke University Lung Transplant Research. This tournament is an 18 hole Captain’s Choice with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Following the tournament a Shrimp-a-Roo will be held at Michael’s with an All-UCan- Eat Buffet, cash bar, auction and live entertainment. Kure Beach Street Festival to be Held on April 24th – The Annual Street Festival is considered to be the Town’s “Rite of Spring”. The streets of downtown Kure Beach will be filled with Arts and Crafts vendors, food vendors the ever popular Kid’s Korner Carnival Game Center, Sun Coast Cruisers car exhibit and, of course, live music. The live music will start at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the magnificent fireworks display at dusk. Commemorative T-shirts and shopping bags are for sale now at the Kure Beach Town Hall Offices.
