Each week at our sales meeting we have a “Mystery Agent.” This gives us a chance to learn more about one of our colleagues that we may not have known otherwise.
- He was born in a small "Mill Town" in the middle part of the state known at the time for making towels and sheets.
- First job was a newspaper route at age 10 with 95 customers.
- Started playing golf at age 14. Made first hole in one at age 16 (topped 8-iron, 144 yards). Lowest competitive round was 74.
- Played percussion in the High School Marching Band that finished 3rd in the Greatest Bands in Dixie contest held during Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
- Graduated from NC State.
- Dave Hilliard sold him his first house.
- Married to a beautiful banker who is approaching her 5 year mark after treatment for Breast Cancer. Had his only child when he was 47.
- Spent some time in the golf business after graduation. Built two golf courses. Heard Jack Nicklaus fart while building the last one.
- Built nearly 450 homes with a partner and exactly 100 homes under his own company. The last one was his personal home which won a Gold Award in the Parade of Homes.
